Hi All,
I have just found out today that I am in the “Shadow Squad” for the 2010 Australian Commonwealth Games Team to be held in Delhi, India. The Commonwealth Games is like the Olympics, but for Commonwealth Countries (Countries still affiliated with the Monarchy in England) only. This means I am a potential for the actual team that will be picked in July 2010.
As part of this squad it is compulsory for me to return to Australia in July, 2009 to attend a training camp as well as play in the Australian Doubles Championship. Therefore I will be unable to participate in running the Summer Squash Camps with John White at Meadow Mill Athletic Club in July.
John and I have decided to postpone the July camps until next year, but will still be going ahead with the two weeks of camps at the start of June.
Attached is the updated entry form.
If anyone would like to sign up or needs any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best Regards,
Wade Johnstone

THE COACH:
Rod Barnes learned to play squash through the 1980’s in Brisbane, Queensland during a golden era in Australian squash. Rodney and Brett Martin, Rodney Eyles, Chris Robertson, Tristan Nancarrow and many others that played in Brisbane through that period went on to be some of the world’s top players. Rod chose a different path through life, sitting in an office chair, throughout this easy lifestyle he has made a habit to find time to get out on the court and whine about how much joint pain he is in, suggesting that lesser men would be in wheelchairs. To his credit he has maintained a state grade standard for 25 years and in his 40’s still holds close to a 6.0 NCSRA rating, remaining one of the top players in the tri-state area.
